Slowdive follow-up their FYF reunion appearance with the first of two sold-out shows at the Theatre at the Ace on 11.08.14. Sadly, I only have pics of this performance.

Preoccupations’ “Doubt”

"Doubt" reminds me of what alternative rock used to sound like.  Back in the late '80s-early '90s, alternative music was often darker and dirge-ier in nature, somewhat gothic and rougher around the edges.  With this track from their 2018 album "New Material," Canadian artists Preoccupations seem to be channeling those lost sounds from the past.  …

Tame Impala’s “It is Not Meant to Be”

Tame Impala perform at the Shrine Auditorium on 11.12.14. This was the first time I saw these Aussies live.
Yup, here's an oldie, circa 2010, from Australian indie psychedelic rock outfit Tame Impala.  I was feeling a little nostalgic, as well as gazing into the future for their upcoming performance at Desert Daze on Oct. 12.  Also, I think there's an Aussie music fixation going on today.  Or maybe just coincidence.
