It’s been a good long time since I’ve posted any of my vintage playlists. I think it was back in January, if memory serves. Part of the problem is I started running into deficiencies with Spotify’s catalogue. More and more tracks from these compilations just aren’t available through streaming. Admittedly, some of them are weird and obscure remixes, unlicensed tracks, and indie releases so old that most probably won’t recognize them. That doesn’t make them any less appealing … just hard to find.
So I finally decided to return to the translation from home system to Spotify, substituting, adding, and revising where appropriate and needed. With that, I give you “Dumb Disco Ideas 3: Threesome.” As you can probably guess, this is the third entry in the “Dumb Disco Ideas” series. And no, it’s not all disco, as the title suggests. It’s just a name that was inspired by one of my favorite Holy Ghost songs. But then again, some of these selections might seem dumb, depending on your point of view. I hope not, though, because there’s a lot of great selections.
Per my usual recipe, there’s an abundance of electronic numbers, from progressive and deep house selections, to trip hop, dub, and drum ‘n bass. There’s also a fine collection of indie bits, from Gems, Tamaryn, Washed Out, Metric, Moderat, and M83, to name a very select few. And there’s plenty to explore and experience in-between, both old and new, spanning a few decades of tunes. I’m not going to go into details of what was substituted or added. It really doesn’t make all that much difference, as long as you enjoy what’s here.
I’m hoping to Spotify my remaining home-based playlists at some point in the near future. I’ve only got a handful left. But of course, that all comes down to time and inspiration, particularly when it comes to revising and updating these things. For now, enjoy “Dumb Disco Ideas 3: Threesome.” This should keep you occupied for 6.5 hours. Feel free to play from the beginning, as it was originally designed, or shuffle it however you see fit. Either way works. Peace, love, & whatever floats your boat.
