Big Electric Playlist, December 2018

Happy New Year to all!

I’m going to start 2019, and in particular, this shiny new January with the traditional wrap-up of the previous month’s posts. That’s right. For those paying attention, it’s the December edition of the Big Electric Playlist, a mostly comprehensive compilation of all the recommended music from December’s posts. And this round, there’s quite a bit to choose from, topping out at 9 hours and 48 minutes. I think that’s a record, since I kicked this blog into gear back in September.

First off, in an unusually busy holiday season, there were a number of artists who took to the stage last month – Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, Echo and the Bunnymen, Cults, Jesus & Mary Chain, Poolside, Say Lou Lou, to name a few. So there’s a slew of great offerings from each of them. And if you want more, a number of those have separate setlists that I’ve posted as playlists. Plus, there’s a lot of great individual tracks to try out, if you haven’t already done so. There’s too many to name, so I’ll just leave that exploration to your own discretion.

This particular collection is more eclectic than previous months. It swings hard, and plays soft. It’s aggressive, and super chill. It’s nostalgic and forward-thinking. And there’s a wild range of volume for everything in between.

So feel free to hit shuffle, or start from the top. Until the next one … Enjoy!
