The Kite String Tangle is another recommendation from a good friend at work. She suggested listening to this artist as a cure for those down days where stress and anxiety can overwhelm and overcomplicate. I’ve definitely had a few of those this week. So I figure, why not?
And after some shuffling around, I landed on “Wanderlust,” a chilled dance number that seems so relaxed in its delivery of optimistic euphoria that it actually does kind of wash away the blues and calm your nerves.
Brisbane-based electronic musician Danny Harley is the one man band behind The Kite String Theory, writing and performing all the material himself. Other than that, I don’t know a whole lot about him. But it definitely feels like he places a great deal of heartfelt emotion into his songwriting. You might say his music is characterized by an organic artistry, distilled into a natural synthesis of sound and feeling. At least, those are my initial impressions.
Perhaps that’s why I’ve taken a liking to “Wanderlust.” Or maybe it’s just a great song. Either way, you should try it out. If you’re having one of those darker days, The Kite String Theory might add a little bit of light to the shadows.
