Tonight’s aural addiction is fixated on Melbourne-based Lowtide, a stunning guitar-based shoegaze-styled band that I can’t stop listening to.
The track that hooked me is “Southern Mind,” a seemingly endless echo chamber of fuzzed-out reverb and expansive vocal cascades. It possesses a sound that creates spaces within spaces, all crafted with guitar-fused textures that feel infinite in scope. A subtle bit of percussion and some beautifully angel-laced vocals complete the complement, keeping the sonic spaciness as focused as can be.
So put on some headphones, turn the volume right up, and close your eyes. You might just get lost in this sea of sound.
