School of Seven Bells’ “Half Asleep”

Here’s “Half Asleep” from New York’s School of Seven Bells.  It’s kinda symbolic of where my headspace is right now. It’s also the first song I heard by them. And I still consider it one of their best. 

SVIIB’s music gets thrown in the indie mix of dream pop and shoegaze, with an emphasis on electronic sequencers and synths.  “Half Asleep” embraces all of that, possessing an almost airy quality to its gossamer rhythms and ethereal vocals.  But flowery descriptors aside, this is just a great indie pop song.
